Mom on the Moon
[Homework 3]
This assignment was focused on the use of duo-tones. I took a picture of my mother and stuck her on the moon before applying the duo-tones.
Duotoned images only consist of two colors two draw the entire image. Many printing companies perceived this as an economical opportunity. To print a "normal" image with many colors cost money -for the ink- and time -to draw the colors-.
A duotoned image only uses two colors. The tiny ink dots that are printed to form the image are arranged in such groupings that shading and depth are imitated without a real greyscale.
